Hebrew Bible Exegesis

Course Overview:

We will be reading passages in the Hebrew Bible to reinforce the grammatical rules learned in Biblical Hebrew I and II.  The passages include Genesis 37:5-20, Exodus 1-3, Genesis 22, Ruth 1-2, Jonah 1 and 3, and Deuteronomy 34.

Required Books:

Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia.  ISBN: 978-1598561630 (recommend hardcover)

Recommended Aid:

Gary D. Pratico and Miles V. Van Pelt, Biblical Hebrew Study Guide (Laminated).  ISBN: 978-0-310-26295-4

Course Objectives:

1. Be able to read Hebrew prose with resources/aids

2. Be able to parse all forms of verbs

3. Reinforce grammatical rules

Evaluations:

3 Exams

1 Oral Exam (or Paper)

Paper (if you need to practice for your Presbyterian test)
