Course Synopsis: This is a workshop in which each student will practice preaching, refine the sermon, and present it one of the last five weeks of winter term Community Chapel. In addition, each student will provide feedback to their colleagues in practice and then participate in designing and leading worship that works with the sermons of their colleagues.  Each student will take his or her preaching and worship leadership to a higher level in content and delivery.

Evaluation

This course is offered pass/fail.  To pass this course a student will: 1) practice preaching in front of the class once; 2) revise and present the sermon in Community Chapel once; 3) provide feedback to colleagues 4 times; 4) participate in designing and leading Community Chapel each of the last five weeks of the term.

Pass/Fail:  Masters students wishing to take the class pass/fail should discuss this with the instructor by the second class session.

Writing Lab:  Grammar and organization are important for all written assignments.  Additional help is available from the Iliff Writing Lab, which is available for students of any level who need help beginning an assignment, organizing thoughts, or reviewing a final draft. 

Inclusive Language:  It is expected that all course participants will use inclusive language in speaking and writing, and will use terms that do not create barriers to classroom community.
