Consultation & Formation

Welcome to Consultation and Formation (C&F)

Instructor Note: I will be on vacation July 1-15 and will conduct consultation appointments before I leave or when I return.

Course Synopsis: This course is designed to provide an opportunity to individually explore the strengths and areas of growth related to their personality style and personal, professional, and spiritual habits in the context of relationships and vocational direction. 0 credits, pass/fail, $75 fee for assessments.

Consultation and Formation is a required curricular component of all professional degree students at Iliff, and a prerequisite for Internship and Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE). Consultation and Formation is one of the reflective tools we use to prepare students for growth and formation opportunities in CPE and Internship along with the required courses of Vocation and Orientation and Identity, Power, and Difference.

You must complete the Consultation and Formation during the quarter in which you register.

The following three assignments will guide you through successful completion of Consultation and Formation:

  1. Filling out the Informed Consent Form ( You must be signed in to your Iliff.edu email account to access the form )
  2. Please follow the instructions below to complete the online assessments.

    Logging on

    1.  Begin by going to http://online.cpp.com
      1. Enter the Login:                     iststudent
      2. Enter the Password:               060107ist
    2. Do not enter a User ID unless you are returning to resume a test or to take a different instrument. The program will give you a User ID after you have taken your first test. Be sure to write down the assigned User ID once it has been given to you by the program, especially if you do not plan to take all the tests at the same time.

     Taking the Assessments

    1. On the bottom of the homepage, select the instrument you wish to take (Strong, Skills Confidence Profile, or CPI 260) by clicking on the name of that instrument.
    2. Fill in the demographic information and click on the “Submit” button.
    3. Read the instructions for each instrument and follow them carefully. The validity of your results is based on normed populations which makes following the directions important.
    4. Begin taking the assessment, answering the questions as directed. The Strongs Interest Inventory asks you to pick a gender which impacts your results particularly, please choose the gender you identify with most.
    5. Don’t spend too long on each question. Trust your first instinct. For questions where multiple answers feel correct, choose the one that is most correct.
    6. After finishing the instrument, click the “I’m done” button. (Note: If you omit too many questions to produce valid results, you will be asked if you want to “Resume” taking the test. If you do, click on the “Resume” button).
    7. If you need to take a break during the assessments, click on the “I’m done” button and be sure to write down your User ID (or else you will not be able to return to the instrument to complete it and you will need to start all over).
    8. Once you have finished an instrument, you will be taken to the homepage to select another instrument or to end your session. If you select another instrument, please use the User ID provided to you after the first instrument. Once you complete all three inventories (Strong, MBTI, and CPI) simply close your browser.
